The Emergence Of The Human Camels And Rams.(Via @wickedstepmami)

These days, the idea of fashion has been twisted beyond what words can describe. Apparently,it is natural for a human being to emulate animals when taking photographs.
Whatever happened to standing straight and taking a nice mature pose, instead of this stressful methods of bending like a vulture who hasn't eaten in days or bringing out your tongue like a Sallah ram or pouting like a camel.
Iђΐs culture is common among both males and females in Nigeria.I Honestly cannot fathom why humans with functional brains will want to emulate such trends when your ancestors were not camels.
You will be treated in the manner you present yourself,So why don't we all try to avoid the temptation to emulate animals, the last time I checked,we were the higher species and not the other way round.
So my brethen, whenever you develop the urge to pout or bend or bring out ur tongue in your pictures, tell the devil to flee from you. Dazz all!!!

Gidi Youth Awards Enters Second Season

Ahead of the Second edition of Gidi Youths Awards, the organizing committee is releasing its first official statement.

Gidi Youths Awards prides itself as the awards closest to the people, it is the award that digs in to the grassroots in order to discover hidden achievers, uncover future leaders and reward excellence.  The award differs from other conventional awards because it does not only seek to recognize or celebrate successes, but it seeks to highlight and document the ways in which these successes were attained in other to inspire other youths to tap the potential in them and create; Hence, our motto "celebrate to inspire".

GYA 2013 is the opportunity for people doing extra-ordinary things and those affecting the life of the individuals in the society to be rewarded. The first edition of the award which was an experimental edition took place last year at City Mall, Onikan, Lagos and the first set of winners includes Laredo, Unilagolodo, Shodeponks, TuneUpNaija, and Larryforeman of Unilag fm amongst others.

This year's Award which is being organized by Zee Africa Magazine and T2T entertainment promises to be bigger and better. The main focus of this year's award would be on Youth Entrepreneurs, Youths in New and Traditional Media, Youths in the Cooperate world, Outstanding Societal Achievers, Students and Entertainers.

We would also be using this year's award to start a campaign to add "colours" into the life of the African child. A lot of children in Africa are living in extreme poverty and unhappiness, our intention is to start in our own little way by giving out things that will improve the living conditions of as much children as we can. Hence the use of colours in our campaign this year and we enjoin others to do same so as to pass on the message of Putting Colours in the life of the African child.

A lot is being done by the organizers to make sure everything is in place towards a perfect ceremony. The nominees for this year's award would emerge through a predetermined formula by the Organizers' after vetting entries sent in by the general public through online and mobile platforms which would be released soon.

"Our resolve in doing this is not just to celebrate these individuals but to create role models that other youths can aspire to be. We would not just reward them but interview them and listen to their success story so as to inspire others towards success.

Blackberry Z30 makes online debut

The Blackberry Z30 made it's first appearance online with a leaked picture courtesy of online forum for Blackberry lovers,  CrackBerry.com. The Z30 appears quite large in the picture, very much larger than the Z10. Blackberry seemed to be working it's way to self restoration after loosing chunks of it's market share to Android, iOS and Windows Phone respectively. To add salt to injury, mobile users have increasing started using the term 'Brickberry' to refer to Blackberry and Blackberry phones.

The Blackberry Z30 seems quite like a real market contender but will have to battle out with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the rest of the bigger phones in the market.

Afe Babalola University students deplore increase in their school fees

I've been getting quite a number of emails from students of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state bemoaning the recent increase in their school fees. According to the students, the school outrageously increased their fees for the 2013/2014 academic session by over 40%. The students got a notice yesterday Monday August 12th informing them of the increase which they say is 'unfair'. For instance Engineering and Law students paid N695,000 last semester but the new fee for this semester is N1,095,000, N695,000 for social and management college and sciences, N1, 200 000 for medicine students, some fees went from N755,000 to N 1,245,000 and so on.

Some students are saying no reduction, no resumption. Below is a broadcast that was sent out
Please let us not go back to school until they reduce the school fees!! Pass this on people..let us protect our parents. If you are not from ABUAD, please pass it on. 49% increase on the school fees is not a joking matter!!
Meanwhile, some students have reached out to the media asking us to appeal to the owner of the school, renowned lawyer, Afe Babalola to please reduce the fees for them. Dear Mr Babalola, please listen to the cry of your students. #messagepassed! :-)

New Music:Download Let's Do it by OXBOW

You know that feeling you get when you taste icecream after craving it for a long time, that's the feeling I got when I listened to Oxbows track titled 'Let's Do It', I felt ecstatic yet calm and I didn't even know when my feet started tapping and my head started nodding. I'm very critical to the type of songs I listen to and I don't soil my ears with rubbish so for me to say this song is good then you should be rest assured its good.
Talking about the song the lyric are abstract tho they tell a story about a guy trying to woo a girl in a club and telling her his preference to things, though there are a lot of play on words you will definately enjoy the song.
Oxbow has been creating waves on the music scenes since he was a young boy and now he is transitionally to conquer with his new hit single- 'Let's do it' produced by Kelikume. This song is a combination of African lyrics, western hip-hop and R&B which is the latest single released by the renowned and reputable Afro hip-hop maestro, Iwakun idowu a.k.a Oxbow. The artiste has released other outstanding singles like 'Lagos boy' among other songs.

Enough said, Here's the download link to the song. Trust me its not a waste of your mb

(TOUCHING VIDEO) Stray Dog Buries A Dead Puppy (via @wickedstepmami) #bbathechase

In a heart-rending act of animal kindness, a stray dog steps in where no human would and buries a dead puppy by the side of a road.
Onlookers watched in awe as the mongrel circled and sniffed the lifeless pup after finding it in a ditch where it had been left to rot in the midday sun.
But rather than leave it to scavengers, who would inevitably have torn it limb from limb, she spent more than three minutes gently raking sand over the corpse with her snout with extraordinary care.
But there were no sermons, ceremony or quiet reflection at this impromptu canine burial service... not even a bark.

Kidnappers in shootout in Waterlines PortHarcourt (via @wickedstepmami)

About 2 hours ago , waterlines area of port Harcourt was shaken by gun shots by both kidnappers and mobile police.
The armed men entered waterlines with the intention of kidnapping a 17 year old white girl who was well guarded by Mopol.
They started a shootout to scare her security men away and succeeded in scaring off the pedestrians and car owners along with regular policemen who ran shamefully with their guns.
The mopol men started their own shootout to show that they were not ready to run, dem screamed and beckoned on the kidnapper to come near the girl, but they fled like little girls.
The struggle to kidnap people for money is becoming unbecoming. Something needs to be done fast about it.

My Personal Vendetta II (via @wickedstepmami) #bbathechase

What are you doing here?" Kim asked her half naked sister.
"What does it look like, u sha have eyes, you can see am cooking"
Kim looked at her in disbelief, and asked "why are you cooking in Tim's house, don't you have a house?"
Junia sits her down and begins to narrate how she came to Tim's house to tell him about her,but Tim was more interested in her and she liked him too S o she decided to date him.
" Why do you have to take everything from me, you're prettier, more intelligent, our parents love you more, and now you have taken the last thing that gives me joy" Kim said with tears flowing freely from her eyes. She ran out to her room where she wept profusely.
Before she knew what was going on,he proposed to her sister and as if that wasn't painful enough, she was made the chief bridesmaid.
They had a baby almost immediately.
Kim sank further into depression, her father reminded her every day that she wasn't getting younger, all to no avail. She was bent on paying her sister back.
She began to plant seeds of discord in their home, she put lipstick stains on his shirt and sprayed masculine perfume on her clothes, sent anonymous texts and her plan worked perfectly. The couple fought endlessly and she made herself available as a shoulder to cry on for Tim.
With time, Tim began to fall in love with her, who could blame him, his wife was never around even if she had a 6 month old baby, she also never gave him attention, she kept nagging at him. Kim loved the baby and cared for him.
Kim spent almost everyday with him and the baby, her sister, Junia wasn't finding the act of her confused sister amusing, she reported to her parents who tried to dissuade Kim but to no avail.
Tim went to work the next day ,leaving Kim with the baby, the nanny was also not around. Kim slept off after putting the baby to sleep and woke up to the smell of burning rice she put on the gas. she got up immediately to put it off, and went to look for the baby but she couldn't find him in his cot. she screamed and called Tim's phone and informed him.
In a few hours, a ransom was provided, it wasn't cash but a request for Kim to leave Tim and his family alone. Kim took a look at her crush and realized that it was time to grow up and let go. with tears in her eyes  Kim hugged him and let go, she packed all her belongings and left.
No one knows where Kim went to, she disappeared into thin air, we Don't know if she ever found love but we know that the baby was returned to his family.

My Personal Vendetta (via @wickedstepmami) #bbathechase

Kim sat at a strategic position in her balcony to look into his house, just as she has done for the past 7 years.
Everyone in her house thought she would have gotten over her crush on Tim,but she continued to watch him even when he was married with a child.
It wasn't always like Iђΐs for her,she was once a playful and outgoing lady. Tim stayed in the same estate with kim's family, his house was a few blocks away. she was only 16 when he moved in to the estate.
Tim was 22 and was probably the cutest guy in the estate. It was only natural that the young ladies admired him. He had a very beautiful smile and dreamy eyes, Kim had every reason to fall for him.
She got admission into a private university and had to be away for a long time with only short holidays, So she always valued her time at home. She kept away from other guys in school because she was in a fictional relationship with him.
Her sister Junia, kept setting her up with guys to help her get over her crush, but to no avail.
When she was 20, she graduated from school and went home to wait for her youth service, she never spoke to him, she just looked at him all day from her father's telescope in her room.
The obsession became worse every passing day, she took her time to know all the ladies who visited him at home, she then traces them back on the street and tells them that he is a ritualist who eats women, trust Naija babes, they run without asking questions.
Tim was scared because every woman who gets close to him runs away, he was So depressed on that day,So he sat on a swing next to Kim. Iђΐs was her chance and she took it, she asked him what was wrong and he told her he wasn't happy. She made a few jokes and he smiled, they actually connected.
Her dreams were gradually coming true. She was happier than ever, she saw him off to work everyday for two weeks. He hadn't made any advances at her but she didn't mind, as long as she got to spend time with him.
Her sister, Junia noticed the new development and offered to speak to him to make it official, Kim agreed without any hesitation.

Communication For A Healthy Relationship (via @wickedstepmami)

A relationship is a connection and exchange between people. Communication plays a large role in the exchange between people. It exchanges information in the form of ideas, wants, desires, feelings, and much more. Incomplete or stopped communication can create a block in the relationship. The degree of the block can vary with the severity or repeating of the communication stop. A block in the relationship exists or will grow when communication is just flat out avoided.

A communication avoidance or stop will prevent that topic from being shared and gone through. When enough of these areas build up or a couple important ones develop, it behaves as if there were clamps on the lungs of the relationship. The relationship has trouble breathing. Without this exchange of life energy, the relationship cannot grow, it may struggle, and if it is severe enough, then the relationship suffers and dies. The relationship can be considered to be a living entity just as each one of us are living. There has to be a continuous flow of energy through each and every living entity. The flow is between each partner of the relationship and between the relating partners and the environment. Just as in an individual body, when the energy is blocked or stopped, a disease or illness starts to develop. The key for a healthy and growing relationship is to keep the communications flowing.

Communication can be stopped in a variety of ways. Avoidance was already mentioned. If both partners avoid the same subject, then it will never arise in conversation. If only one is avoiding the subject, they might just stop the conversation when that topic comes up. This is usually obvious. They might also divert the conversation and depending on their skill, this can be obvious or it can be done without notice. In either case, that aspect of the relationship that reflects that subject will cease to move. However, if the other partner notices the diversion or avoidance, then the interpretations or stories that the person puts on the avoidance can magnify the effect. And some people are good at creating some very negative interpretations for minor events.

Nonverbal communication can be even trickier. People put a lot of communication into nonverbal forms. This is especially true when people are approaching new romantic situations. Many people are not comfortable verbalizing enough of the romantic details. So the approach to romance is mostly through nonverbal signals. However, when the flow is broken, if the reason is not sufficiently verbalized, (such as, "I would love to ..., but right now because of ...) then the break is often taken as a permanent "no" or stop. This is why many people feel that they have only one chance as they enter a new relationship.

If you recognize that you are having difficulty in starting a communication topic, there are a variety of ways to get it going. If you can't say what you need to, you may be able to write it instead. If you can't approach a person directly, you can enlist the help of another friend to bring up the topic in front of the write person. You can also arrange items or events to cause a discussion of the appropriate topic. Sometimes you cannot talk about something because it got labeled as something to not talk about, so you don't talk about it at all with anyone. In this case, if you can find someone to tell, it will help to remove the power that item holds over you. It will usually be easier to tell someone who is removed from the subject. You can tell a stranger in a bar, a priest in a confessional, or a room of strangers in a therapy workshop. Whatever gets the flow moving is good and will reduce the power of that item. However, once a stuck item is nudged, then other communications or actions may be required to keep the energy of the release of the subject continuing. You have to pay attention to see what is needed.

However, paying attention is an important half of communication. Communication is part giving and part receiving. Both parts are necessary by both partners for good communications. Some people are good listeners and some are good talkers, but both partners have to do both for complete and effective communication. Communications can be stopped on both sides, by avoidance of the giving or telling, and by avoidance of the receiving. Attention has to be given to both sides of communication to insure that the communication remains completed by both partners and that stops or blocks are addressed and released to allow the relationship to grow in a healthy fashion.

Home Remedy For Toothache (via @wickedstepmami)

I came across a very cheap and efficient remedy to toothache which is also permanent.
I suffer from toothache as well, and only a few people understand the excruciating pain we suffer.
Over the years, So many prescriptions have been given to me by people,I even had one tooth removed. I tried the salt and water, which relieves for a short period and took pain killers also.
Recently,I had another terrible experience and my Grandmother suggested we buy native salt and apply it in small quantities in the affected tooth and leave it for about 5 minutes and then spit it out. This should be done regularly even when the pain subsides. It brings instant relief, So share and help a friend or a loved one

How To Examine Your Breasts For Cancer (via @wickedstepmami)

Breast cancer is a terminal illness, but when detected early, it could be treated.

Risk factors for malignancy include-
Previous history of breast cancer.
Family history of breast cancer in a first-degree relative.
Risk increases with age; ≤5% of cases present before age 35, ≤25% before 50 years.
Never having borne a child, or first child after age 30.
Not having breast-fed (breast-feeding is protective).
Early menarche and late menopause.
Continuous combined HRT increases risk.
Radiation to chest (even quite small doses).
High alcohol intake may increase risk in a dose-related manner.
Breast augmentation is not generally associated with increased risk. Type of implant used may be important.

The Five Steps of a Breast Self-Exam
Step 1: Begin by looking at your breasts in the mirror with your shoulders straight and your arms on your hips.

Here's what you should look for:

Breasts that are their usual size, shape, and color
Breasts that are evenly shaped without visible distortion or swelling
If you see any of the following changes, bring them to your doctor's attention:

Dimpling, puckering, or bulging of the skin
A nipple that has changed position or an inverted nipple (pushed inward instead of sticking out)
Redness, soreness, rash, or swelling

Step 2: Now, raise your arms and look for the same changes.

Step 3: While you're at the mirror, look for any signs of fluid coming out of one or both nipples (this could be a watery, milky, or yellow fluid or blood).

Step 4: Next, feel your breasts while lying down, using your right hand to feel your left breast and then your left hand to feel your right breast. Use a firm, smooth touch with the first few finger pads of your hand, keeping the fingers flat and together. Use a circular motion, about the size of a quarter.

Cover the entire breast from top to bottom, side to side — from your collarbone to the top of your abdomen, and from your armpit to your cleavage.

Follow a pattern to be sure that you cover the whole breast. You can begin at the nipple, moving in larger and larger circles until you reach the outer edge of the breast. You can also move your fingers up and down vertically, in rows, as if you were mowing a lawn. This up-and-down approach seems to work best for most women. Be sure to feel all the tissue from the front to the back of your breasts: for the skin and tissue just beneath, use light pressure; use medium pressure for tissue in the middle of your breasts; use firm pressure for the deep tissue in the back. When you've reached the deep tissue, you should be able to feel down to your ribcage.

Step 5: Finally, feel your breasts while you are standing or sitting. Many women find that the easiest way to feel their breasts is when their skin is wet and slippery, so they like to do this step in the shower. Cover your entire breast, using the same hand movements described in Step 4.

Tips to consider before taking him/her to Mama (via @wickedstepmami)

These days, finding a husband or wife is like finding a needle in a haystack. When you find one,he or she may not be according to your taste and likeness.
Some guys consider beauty and endowment before marrying a girl. On the other hand, some don't want the endowment. A man almost didn't marry his wife because his family said her breasts were too big.
Some ladies consider the pocket of the man and others the looks. What should be the considered before all these qualities.
In my opinion, the first consideration should be the family background and upbringing. Does she come from a home where men are treated as slaves and have no say in the home?,does he come from a home where women are beaten at the slightest provocation?
The level of compatibility should be considered as well. Her genotype and blood group is also very important for the sake of your children.
Her ability to take care of the home and his ability to put food on the table for the family. His/ her goals and ability to spend money reasonably.
Beauty and brains is an added bonus, just as looks and a fat pocket is a bonus.
After considering all these things, you can ascertain if she will be a good wife and mother or a good husband and father

The Strange Boy 2 (via @mizz_norah)

On getting home, being myself wasn't easy. I had to wear a happy face to hide my troubled heart. But we all know mothers, super-sensitive creatures. They "always" get the feeling when something wrong/unlawful is going on/happening. My mother wasn't an exception. She asked me if I had had any bad encounter in school. "Uh-oh!" a bell rang in my head! What should I tell her? The truth? No! She'll take it too seriously. "Mum....school was fine! You know how lecturers behave, teaching for over 3hours like they don't have a family to go home to/take care of. I'm just having a slight headache that's all." "Are you sure?" She asked. "Absolutely!". She told me to go to her bedroom drawer and get 2 tablets of panadol. Phew! I had finally induced her to believing my story. "Duh..... I didn't really lie to her" I tried telling my good conscience."I still have an headache after all". I took the pills, had my bath, and dashed off to bed. "This the part where you close your eyes, leave aside all the day's thoughts and events and wander far far away" I told myself. As I closed my eyes, all I could see was the little boy with the big cut on his head.I opened my eyes and shook my head, willing myself not to call up every single memory in that scene.I picked up my phone and dialed Ifeoma's number, "My head's still at the front gate, if you know what I mean. I wish we had a sleepover". "Sorry Coop. I warned you about drooling over that boy's situation, but you wouldn't listen. See you at school tomorrow. Better sleep with the light on". "Yea! So much for a good friend", I thought.
It wasn't the dark that frightened me. It was the fact that out there, below my window, was a sick and dying child. I stared out at the lights of 'uyo', for the next hour, watching them gradually go off as people went to sleep. And all the time, as i sat awake, I thought about the living dead who walked among us and how we could help them. As soon as I got to school the following day, I rushed up to the main gate, right to the spot where I knew I'd find the boy. Surprisingly, he wasn't there! I checked the other school gate and the annex gate. Still couldn't find him. I decided to go for my lectures and checkup on him after classes. He still was nowhere to be found. For a whole month, I kept looking for him but to no avail. Confusion set on me. Where did he go? Could he be dead? Would I have disappeared too if I had helped him? I wasn't sure if I was to be glad I didn't offer to help[ him. Anyway! I hope he's still alive and finds favor in the eyes of men. Ah! What a mystery!

The Strange Boy (via @mizz_norah)

It all started one evening while I was heading home with my twin friends Isioma and Ifeoma. We had decided to stroll a little and discuss our "female issues" before going our seperate ways when we came across this poor,homeless,dirty-looking boy. He didn't look older than ten. He had ragged clothes on. His hair was rough and unkept. He looked like someone that hadn't had a bath in like 4 months. One thing that pushed me to sympathy was a deep wound/cut on his forehead. It appeared as if someone had hit him with a matchete/cutlass. It had affected him badly. His health had deteriorated/looked deteriorated. He seemed like he was going to collapse that very minute. I felt really sorry for him. I began wondering what would have caused him to be in that kinda condition; maybe he got missing and couldn't find his way home? Or maybe his wicked-stepmother...^_^ /aunt gave him that cut and sent him packing for being her idea of a bad boy? Or maybe his grandmother
in the village had decided to kill the poor boy because she was having issues with his father, her son-in-law? Several negative thoughts just kept running through my mind.I finally came outta my trance when I noticed that my friends had been calling me simultaneously. I told them to check-out the boy. They did so and told me they felt sorry for him.I went ahead to making them see to my point of view. I asked after their opinions on what must have happened to him, and they simply went plain telling me that he might have lost his way or something must have happened to him spiritually. Still not satisfied with their opinions, I began to curse and blame those rich men and politicians who would always drive past occasionally and see the dying boy and still refuse to offer help.It was then my friends raised their voices objecting to my curses and blames. She told me to put myself in their shoes and asked me if i would've helped him. Ignorantly, I said yes. She disagreed with me and told me that no normal person would just walk up to a retarded-looking boy to offer help. What if he was having some kind of spiritual problem and when he touches u, you'll go insane too? What if all this was a camouflage, that he is a wizard in his true form/nature? they kept bombarding me with questions, making me know that it was what was considered before helping a person in that state/condition. Unfortunately, I was strong-willed to agree with her and stood my grounds on helping the poor boy if I had the chance/opportunity. They noticed that I was trying to induce them to supporting my idea of helping  the boy and decided/went ahead to change our topic of discussion.................

Global Warming and its Effect in Nigeria(via @wickedstepmami)

Lately the heat wave all over the country has been unbearable. Even with the rain, the heat is still unbearable.
Have you ever wondered why the sun is So hot? The heat is caused by global warming.
Global warming is the rise in the temperature of the earth's atmosphere.
It occurs when greenhouse gases are trapped in the atmosphere, with nowhere to go, they are retained in the atmosphere. this is called the green house effect.
A greenhouse gas (sometimes abbreviated GHG) is a gas in an atmosphere that absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal infrared range. This process is the fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect.[1] The primary greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere are water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone.
The effects of global warming include extreme weather conditions, heat due to the depletion of the ozone layer by the greenhouse gases, flood, shortage of water due to climate change.
Global warming can be solved by setting limits on pollution(the kyoto protocol in Japan deals with emission of gases, emission is outlawed in some states). Another solution is investing in clean energy, planting more trees as they purify the environment, stopping bush burning, recycle instead.
Driving smarter cars and using clean electricity such as solar powered electricity.
Share and educate your friends.

The side effects of artificial eyelashes (via @wickedstepmami)

Although eyelash elongation creates a dazzling look to the eye, making it speak volumes. It creates a better alternative to applying coats of mascara to make the eyes stand out. It is however accompanied with health risks.
Overlooked health issues accompany this quest for beauty, as artificial eyelashes are applied directly to the natural eyelashes with a bonding agent, which are irritants that can cause discomfort and potential eye damage in severe cases.
Described by many as a beautification that adds length and fullness to the natural eyelashes, many women do not know that eyelashes elongation asides its glamour is also accompanied with other negative effects.
In the process of getting an eyelash fixed, many of its seekers concur that it is not painful and that the cost is fair. This is probably a reason for the increase in the number of ladies and women that patronise beauticians to have their eyelashes fixed.
The road side beauticians, are often patronsedbecause of their relatively lower prices, ranging from N200 to N1000. Simple as  they seem, the process of getting the artificial eyelash attached to the natural ones is done within minutes. But as short as the time frame is, the process is obviously one that puts the eyes at risk.
Aside having to sit still and keep the eyes open till it is done, the beautician applies the lashes to the eye with a glue and often times, most of them make the lashes stick with the aid of a toothpick. Two reasons obviously make the idea of a toothpick appalling, first, it is a sharp object and secondly, the same toothpick is often used for all customers.
Although the dazzling effect is achieved almost immediately, the problem often sets in few minutes later, when the eye becomes hyper sensitive to everything around it.
Women with very sensitive eyes might feel uncomfortable at the beginning, as the eye takes a moment to get accustomed with the new weight. Complaints from many first time users range from tension on the eyelids as a result of the glue, to watery eyes and heavy eyelids and if forcefully removed, the lashes pull off the natural lashes.
Studies show that repeated use of eyelash extensions can cause Traction Alopecia, a condition where the hair falls out due to excessive tension placed on the hair shaft. As a result, this can damage the hair follicle.
Using potent chemicals on the eyelashes make them fall out more quickly than they naturally would. While the life span of a lash is normally about five months for a new one to take its place, artificial eyelashes causes the eyelashes to shed two months after the procedure. Not only would it make the eyelashes become noticeably sparser, they may become brittle as well and break off, appearing much shorter.
Also at some point, bacteria sticks under the glue and to the artificial eyelashes, thereby causing infections. There must be a limit to the use of artificial eyelashes to prevent infection as well as eye injury. Both the eyelashes and the glue contain chemicals that can causean adverse reaction for some individuals.
A better approach to it is to first test glue on the wrist or at the back of the hand, before using it on the eyes. This would reflect the reaction that would be shown by the individual.
Reactions from many users include difficulties in washing the face, having to be very careful around the eyes, sharp pain in the eye, constant discharge from the eye, watery eyes, heavy eyelids among others.
According to Rosette Articles, the side effects of fixing artificial eyelashes included discomfort, which may follow after fixing of the lashes. Although the effect is temporary because the small hairs are placed individually to the eyelids, however, there will be pain, swelling and tenderness that are felt around the eyelid after the procedure.
Another effect is pruritus, a condition where there is moderate or intense itching of the eye. This can be relieved with ice packs and ointment too. Refrain from scratching also and you can wear goggles at night to prevent it.
The third effect is swelling, which shows on the first few days after the eyelashes have been implanted.
According to the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, another effect is endotropion, which causes trichiasis wherein the eyelashes grow in the wrong direction and going into the eye. Finally, infections may arise, either from poor performance or ununhygienic workmanship.
Fixing lashes should be done occasionally to allow the eye to rest.
